SN provided education to the patient/caregiver about Losartan, a medication prescribed to lower blood pressure and protect kidney health in individuals with diabetes or hypertension. The teaching stressed the importance of taking Losartan exactly as directed, ideally at the same time every day without missing doses.
Patients were advised to check their blood pressure regularly, stay well-hydrated, and avoid salt substitutes or potassium supplements unless approved by their healthcare provider, since Losartan can raise potassium levels. They were encouraged to get up slowly from sitting or lying down to prevent dizziness, and to promptly report any side effects such as feeling lightheaded, swelling, or an irregular heartbeat. The instructions also highlighted the value of following a heart-healthy diet, exercising within personal limits, and attending all scheduled appointments to monitor blood pressure and overall well-being.
